We have all been there. After giving our 10th class examination, instead of going on a holiday or a break we instead have to juggle and choose between subject streams. And the most push we get is towards two Non-medical or Medical.

In this post, we will talk about the various career paths that are available in the non-medical stream. Although the non-medical stream is dominated by the profession of Engineering, there are still other jobs that are within this stream.

Mathematics, in terms of the non-medical stream, the most important subject. The world of Maths is full of numbers and theorems. But within this field lies more than just formulas and application of them. Now, let’s talk about probably one of the most talked about professions in the stream of non-medical. It dwarfs all other jobs in comparison. Yes, we are talking about Engineering. It is the most sought-after career in this stream.

There are various strands within the field of engineering – and each depends on what is your interest in. If your inclination is towards computers then you can go into computer science, I.T., software development and much more. If you’re into building new equipment then you can go into mechanical and electronic engineering. If you love cars and automobiles then you can go into automobile engineering as well!

There are other various fields within the engineering sector. From civil, petroleum, aerospace and much more. Ideally, if this is the field you want to pursue your career in, then you’d need to give and clear the JEE exam conducted by the newly formed National Testing Agency. Those who clear and get a good score can get to apply to various colleges under IITs and NITs and other respected state colleges like PEC etc.
